Here are just a few of the many parks you may want to visit through during your stay.
Lakes Regional Park – This Florida park is not a far from Fort Myers Beach, but offers a completely new setting… like an oasis in the city!
It features a freshwater lake, as well as:
- Pavilions with grills and picnic tables
- Two playgrounds and two water-feature playgrounds
- A train museum and miniature train rides for the kids,
- Boardwalk nature path and Bike paths
- Fragrance gardens, grassy fields, and sand volleyball courts
- Restrooms and food concessions
- Stations to rent bikes, surreys, paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks
Caloosahatchee Regional Park – Located in Alva, this Florida park is a bit of a drive, but makes for a nice day trip. It features 768 acres of pine flatwoods, with horseback riding trails, hiking, mountain biking, and fishing.
Manatee Park – If you want to see the Manatees, this is a wonderful way to see them in a non-captive, natural environment. There are viewing areas, as well as picnic shelters, butterfly gardens, and kayak rentals.
