Is Fort Myers Beach Safe from the Oil Spill?
As you’ve probably heard, over the last couple of weeks the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill…
…has been spreading out, reaching the Pensacola, and even the “Loop Current” in the Gulf of Mexico.
Monday, June 7th, 2010 – Fort Myers Beach – the water’s warm, the sand is white, and people are enjoying our beautiful weather.
One thing that we’ve noticed is that none of the models we’ve seen on the TV, online, or in print, show the Southwest Florida area as a ‘destination’ for the oil (sheen or tarballs).
At least for the foreseeable future – we seem to be in the clear.
One of the people we’ve started to follow for the real ‘science’ behind this event is Dr. Jeff Masters (one of the founders of the Wunderground), and he has a very interesting article on why Southwest Florida is in the “forbidden zone” for the oil in the Gulf.
Also, be sure to read about our White Sand Guarantee, our way of helping you have the best Florida Beach vacation in light of the recent events. If you’re interested in enjoying the beautiful sandy Fort Myers Beach (and our gorgeous sunsets!) be sure to visit our web site at: www.BeachFloridaRentals.com, or give us a call directly at: (866) 218-1709.
