this is the way to do it!

A tour on an Airboat or Swamp Buggy is something you and your family will remember forever!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with these particular modes of transportation, let us help you speak a little “Everglade”:

“Airboat” – This is a flat-bottomed vessel propelled forward by an aircraft-type propeller and powered by either an aircraft or automotive engine.

Used in marshy or shallow areas where a standard inboard or outboard engine with a submerged propeller would not be practical. May also be called a “fanboat”.

“Swamp Buggy” – This is a vehicle used to travel in the boggy swamps of the South.

Invented in Naples, FL by Ed Frank, these proved valuable during early development of the Everglades.

They are tall, strange looking vehicles riding on huge balloon tires.

They’re used for touring the Swamps, as well as hunting expeditions.

However, in recent years, Swamp Buggy racing has been their primary use!

One of the more popular tours is the Everglades Adventure tour.

You can choose either the full day Adventure or the Express tour.

Both include a thrilling hour long ride on an airboat!

You can glide through sawgrass prairies, palm hammocks, and the Big Cypress national Preserve and Everglades National Park.

You can expect to see alligators and plenty of other wildlife.

The airboats are operated by U.S. Coast Guard licensed captains who are native to Florida and have been driving airboats all of their lives.
